Trademark Policy

"VehiclesDB", the VehiclesDB logo, and related names, logos, product names, and slogans (the "Marks") are trademarks of Latent Software LLC and/or its licensors, and are used by Latent under license where applicable. All rights are reserved by their respective owners. This Policy governs any use of the Marks. No license to the Marks is granted by the Terms of Service, by the open license of the Open Dataset, by any open-source license of our components, or by anything else, except as stated here or in a written agreement signed by us.

1. Pre-approved uses (safe harbor)

Uses meeting the following conditions are pre-approved and need no further permission: using the word "VehiclesDB" in plain text, without our logo or styling, to truthfully refer to the VehiclesDB products or dataset — for example, "data from VehiclesDB", "built with the VehiclesDB API", or the attribution required by the Terms or by the Open Dataset's license — provided the use (a) does not state or imply sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, or affiliation; (b) is not more prominent than your own branding; and (c) is accurate and not misleading. Truthful, factual references to VehiclesDB (including in citations, reviews, comparisons, and news) are always permitted. Other uses may also be lawful under applicable nominative or descriptive fair-use doctrines; this Policy describes what we pre-approve, and does not purport to restrict uses the law independently permits.

2. Prohibited without written permission

Except with our prior written permission, you may not: use any Mark in or as part of your company, product, service, app, dataset, API, domain name, subdomain, social-media handle, or advertising keyword; use the VehiclesDB logo at all; modify, abbreviate, translate, or combine any Mark with other marks or designs; use any Mark in a way likely to cause confusion as to source, sponsorship, or affiliation; or register or attempt to register any mark, design, or domain confusingly similar to any Mark anywhere in the world.

3. Third-party marks

Vehicle manufacturer names and all other third-party marks referenced in VehiclesDB products are the property of their respective owners. This Policy grants no rights in them, and neither do our products; see the Terms of Service § 6 and the IP & Takedown Policy.

4. Enforcement and contact

We may revoke any permission under this Policy at any time. We and the owners of the Marks reserve all rights and remedies against misuse of the Marks, and each such owner may enforce this Policy with respect to its Marks. Questions and permission requests: [email protected].
